The conference venue, Manawa, is a state-of-the-art health research and education facility, and a collaboration between Christchurch’s health and tertiary education sectors. Manawa brings together the Canterbury District Health Board, Ara Institute of Canterbury and the University of Canterbury.
Sitting at the heart of the Te Papa Hauora/Health Precinct, Manawa Manawa campus is located west of the city centre.
It’s on several bus routes and close to cycleways. Within walking distance are shops, cafes, supermarkets, recreation facilities, Hagley Park, the Botanic Gardens and the Christchurch Arts Centre.

Centrally located, Manawa is on several bus routes, close to cycleways, and is less than 20 mins from Christchurch Airport. Christchurch is an easy city to get around, with a compact centre and connected suburbs. Leave the car at home and consider taking public transport, or other sustainable options to move around the city.
By bus
Several city bus services stop right next to Manawa, at the Christchurch Hospital on Tuam Street and the main Bus Interchange is just a short walk away. Airport buses depart from outside door 9 at the northern end of the terminal, near the Novotel.
By car
Parking is extremely limited and in very high demand around Manawa and the hospital. It may take you quite a while to locate an available car park so allow plenty of time when visiting Manawa.
